I decide to download a datasheet for another ne2000 compatible card. In this case the davicom dm9008. In it there is a note.
"In order for the DM9008 to correctly execute the Send Packet Command the upper Remote Byte Count Register (RBCR1) must first be loaded with 0FH." As soon as I did that the DP83905 also worked. The Packet Wacker card code is taking advange of the Send Packet command which loads the register for you. All you have to do is call the send packet command and then begin reading the packet data from the remote DMA port. Thanks. |
