#90066 - CDs and bit errors Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Dear Kai,
I was shocked to see how many bit errors are present on a standard CD, and how much the number of bit errors increase when using this CD... Well all this stuff about pits, crests, data stream in CDs, even todate are magic to me. Every time I use a CD, it amazes me. Yes I do follow the simple rule to save the data in different places on the same CD - but not in this instance where I had a problem. Prof. Murphy must have told me not to... If despite all the scratching, a CD works , then what happens to the data that has now become erroneous ? In a Audio / Video CD this is no big deal. But in a data CD this sure a receipe for disaster ? Thanks Raghu |
