#90932 - Cable? Speed? Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Pradeep Kumar said:
I am able to communicate betwee two PCs as well as between two microcontrollers using three wires.(Rx,Tx & Gnd). But unable to communicate between microcontroller and Pc. 1. Are you sure you have the correct cable? Between 2 PCs, you will need a crossover cable between them; If the 2 microcrontrollers have the same pinout as each other, you will need a crossover cable between them; But if the microcontrollers & PC have different pinout (pins 2 & 3 reversed), you will need a "straight-through" cable! 2. Maybe your serial interface code is just too slow to keep up with a PC? Is it polled, or interrupt-driven? How are you testing PC-to-micro? Can you get any communication at all between PC & micro? eg, can the PC received from micro, but not micro from PC? |
