0xC0 is correct. That's the 0x40 cursor position plus the "set position" command, which is 0x80.

Vusi, you say that it doesn't write anything on the second line--but does the text you meant to write to the second line get written anywhere else on the LCD?

As a general comment to everyone in the thread, I agree that the use of PRE tags would be nice. But, please, can we not turn every thread that has a non-PRE message into a discussion of PRE tags?
