If that one toggled, you would constantly reset "char timer0_tick;" because of watchdog or other reason. and THAT would explain waht you see.


Well, it does toggle, but only once, during start-up. Could you be more precise as to "if it toggled". Do you mean it as in "if it constantly toggled" or just as "if it toggled once"?
