Hi Timothy,

Sounds like the multi-meter is loading down the output of the chip. Try using a higher impedance meter. Maybe try using an oscope. Your gonna have to use a DAC chip with the 8051 inorder to try to measure the voltage. Even then, you could run into a timing problem depending on how fast the voltage changes.
