Ok, I believe I have fixed the error that caused replies to occasionally be posted as new threads. Thanks, Sanjeev, for correctly diagnosing when and how it happens.

If you forget to fill in a field, 8052.com will still re-prompt you for the data as before--but your post should still remain part of the original thread.

We'll see if this solves the problem. If not, I'll keep looking. :)
