No more excuses for using RC.
There never were one. If cost prohibit you from making a quality product - don't make it at all. they are no more expensive if purchased from proper source. It has, unfortunately, always been necessary to "shop around" when needing quantity. I do not bother about the price for e.g. prototype parts, there the cost of "hunting" is far greater then the cost of buying from the "wrong" source. However when production start I dilligently check sources for all components costing more than $1. Hunting for a resistor that is 10% cheaper does not really make sense, sice it does not even save you $0.01. A specific component that I buy in 10.000s have been priced between $8 and $16 from various sources. Erik |
