It will be used in an automotive environment and the loads may be 4 incandescant bulbs drawing ~ 2 amps each, per circuit. The perceived need for opto isolation is due to the inrush, and some of the loads may also be inductive.

If I use some of the available automotive LED lights, then current draw will be max ~ 2 amps without inrush worries. The cost of the LED lights would probably be too high.

Now you have me looking at my board design wondering about my layout.

I know I haven't yet given you all the info, but I am late for work and will return to edit this post in 10 hours.
