I've tryed to implement the Atmel ISP cable but failed. Has anyone implemented the ISP cable shown here, http://www.atmel.com/dyn/resou...p_C_v5.PDF with success? The same cable you used for the AT89S8252 should work with the AT89S8253. The only change necessary should be in the PC software that needs to communicate with the '53 using a 4-bit SPI protocol rather than a 3-bit SPI protocol.
