#99235 - Here's one I've been playing with...
Responding to: ???'s previous message
My home has a solar water heating panel to supplement my electric water heater. It has a pump on a timer that delivers water to the panel and back to the tank. When the sun shines bright I get lots of "free" hot water, but on dark, cloudy days I shudder to think how much electrically heated water is radiating heat back into the air.
How about a smart controller that turns the pump on when heat can flow into the system (within safe limits) and then shuts it off when heat starts to flow out.
There are controllers on the market that can do this and their prices range from just under one hundred to several hundred dollars US.
It should have a very simple, intuitive user interface that does not require a 200 page manual for setting the system parameters. (The one I'm working on has a three button keypad and an LCD.)
