There are lots of circuits for audio meters and audio peak LEDs on the internet. You might want to look at those for some ideas regarding the hardware.
Since sound is AC you'll probably want to rectify and low-pass-filter the signal somewhat before presenting it to the LPC's A/D. And you'll need to decide/determine the sampling rate too (which will be one of the factors in determining your LPF cutoff freq). |
