Hi Andy,
minimal you need 1 wire: Use the AT90S1200 with 14 lines to scan and debounce and the 15th wire to transmit the key code. E.g. with the Dallas 1-wire-protocol the same wire can also be used to read temperature sensors. Peter P.S.: Yes, I love not the AVRs, but this very little task should fit. |
