...OK not bread but the candy, drinks etc. I admit I often spend too much in gas stations. I also like to buy drinks from vending machines, in fact, it must be sort of an addiction...
However, bread is different. Some people are willing to pay a lot for the technicolor packaged stuff, but the same people would walk/drive to the next store if the bread would cost 10% more than the usual (around 0.5E/kilo). This has something to do with the "theorem of socialism", where basic food was cheap and always available, but you couldn't get a lot of other stuff regardless of price (and the candy was in boring package :-) ) JW |
