I always used a schmitt trigger IC and connected it to the port. I don't remember what the number was, but I thought there used to be a 74000 series IC which had 8 inputs and 8 outputs with a straight-thru configuration which could source up to 20ma per trigger.. Does anyone know the name or number of this chip?
I guess you are referring to the hex schmitt trigger 74xx14, usually these days that will be 74H14. Erik |
