Other devices can setup in soft the length of the internal memory, so yo can change to external memory when you want.
If you are replacing an 8052 that works with external memory the EA pin will be but in that condition so you can't execute your internal code without changing that pin, so change too the psen for the RD\ and then you can check easy if the external rom is present. |
