#102570 - Starting C on the '51 with no prior C kn Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Avoid That ....
C for the PC has a lot of additional libries that the 52' does not support. I disagree. Starting C on the '51 with no prior C knowledge can be worse than a toothache. Fighting the initial screwups while burning flash/eeprom and seeing the result on a 232 line displayed via hyperterminal is hardly conductive to learning. Another issue: does anyone know of a "C on the '51" book that discuss array, struct, switsh etc in such a format that someone with no C background can grasp it. That PC C will give you some habits (malloc, printf etc) that you will have to unlearn is, of course, true but compared to learning the finer points of pointer to an array and such on the '51 with no C background would be a steep uphill.
