The trick isn't the syntax coloring... I could do that with only moderate time investment. The trick is knowing when something is code and should be colored and when someone is just talking about "printf" without actually using any code that should be colored.

If anyone has some thoughts on how to not only syntax color but also how to know when to syntax-color, let me know (certainly it could be used inside PRE tags, but that still depends on the poster using PRE... something that too many people still don't do).
