#103347 - RT composite video out |
The talk of the full 8-bit computer using the uC for real time video generation didn't sit well with me as some of you remember. I was concerned about the "robustness" of doing this; so I sat down tonight with Myke's book and assembled the circuit he did.
Being completely out of 11Mhz xtals, I used a 20Mhz. After adding appropriate pauses to adjust the delay I was able to get it to work fairly easily, even for me. The picture only occupies the upper left portion of the screen, but thats simply because of the time delays I added to make the horizontal timing correct, I understand why it does that and its no biggie. I know Phillip is doing the work for the 8-bit computer for Craig, and I by no means want to steal his glory; but I was curious as to any theory on just how far this can go? Has anyone else ever experimented with this? |
