#104781 - Filter position
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Erik,
Sorry for my late answer , i've had ISP connection problem so i just got the time to reply to Kai's message.

From the last topic that i brought here I remember that Kai have been said it is necessary to use a small resistor about 1 ohm across the Ferrite Beads (named BL2n02 ?) used at the input of regulators. This was to stop the LC filter from showing self resonating. So i thought that any LC filter needs a resistor in parallel with the inductor to damp the self resonating problem.
The same can be seen in Kai's reply in this thread.
The new thing i learned was that this resistor can be placed in series with the LC filter.

on another note, it puzzles me that there is Vcc (unregulated) and +5V which would be "my" Vcc.

You are right. I do the same most of the time. Vcc should be +12v in the circuits.

on a third note I would never put the filters before the regulator, only after

In the last subject where i've asked Kai for the place of the regulator, he did mentioned use the filter at the input.
