For dice, it should be sufficient to just have a fast counter: to "roll" the "dice," the "player" presses a button, which freezes the display.
The randomness of the player pressing the button is all that you need (nobody's reactions are fast enough to reliably stop a MHz on a predictable number!) I built something like this at school using just a couple of 74xx logic chips - no need for a processor! |
