#107705 - seems we have located it Responding to: ???'s previous message |
hi,
just for interest who [plane to] use Ramtron. Oleg Sergeev said:
I wrote to Ramtron some times. They answered that: "It seems that the PFI/PFO circuit is disabled somehow. And the SNL bit is being set inadvertantly. Both could be due to a Vdd power ramp that causes some strange behavior internally." But I cannot understand one thing: if this derivative is specially designed to be processor companion with Power SuperVisor built-in so how may it fail from power ramp form??? As for now we look for statistics of fails to understand how to fix this situation. Yes, we have located the problem. FM31xx derivatives fail due certain power conditions. As a rule this failure destroys analog part which provides reset at power-up time itself. As result FM31xx does not set in known-state at power-up time and even manual reset after power up cannot help with this situation. To fix this failure we stop to use Power Fail Detector anymore and provide reset to FM31xx with external power supervisor aswell. (Here: reset pin of C8051F120 is tied to reset pin of FM31xx). I will send this report to Ramtron soon. Regards, Oleg |
