Hi,
if you are using the 16 pin version of MAX691, then connect a Rcharge resistor between Vout(pin 2) and Vbat(pin 1). This should take care of the charging. you can also insert a schoottky diode in series with the Rcharge resistor (orienting the cathode towards the battery). |
