Hi Daxx,
I'd have to agree with Richard. I've pondered what cpu I could use to do a project only to realize that a couple transistors, opamps, and gates would do the job. However, for a robot to "learn" what to do without user input would obviously need a "brain". The "brain" only needs to accomplish what the creator wants it to though.
