I agree with Erik that there is sometimes an issue of sticker shock. MCU projects easily go for 2 or 3 times what a similar (time-wise) project in Windows would go for.

I've found smaller and larger companies tend to understand this--it's mid-size companies that aren't always prepared for the cost involved. It's also more common in companies that traditionally have worked in Windows and are just starting out in an embedded application. They will not immediately understand why your time is 2 or 3 times more valuable than that of a Windows developer.

I also agree with Erik that word-of-mouth is one of the best ways to get future business. That and doing quality work for your customers so that they come back to you with their next project. A relatively small portfolio of customers that come back to you with their projects will keep an 8052 consultant happy and busy.

As for a "Jobs" area on 8052.com the thought has crossed my mind. I'm not sure how well it would work. What comes more to mind is a place for individual 8052 developers to place their resumes. I guess companies could post their Request for Proposals or job openings as well. What does everyone think? Would it be useful or would it be a ghost-town (i.e. little or no activity)?
