#11369 - RE: Triscend E5 |
Just a few amplifications on Mr. Neil's posting.
The evaluation version of FastChip supports the full capabilities with the exception that you can only build designs that use 256 or fewer of the embedded programmable logic cells. The TE505 device on the previously-mentioned evaluation board has 512 cells. The evaluation version of FastChip also supports Triscend's full "soft" module IP library with functions like UARTs, SPI interfaces, two-wire serial interfaces, HDLC controllers, quarter VGA controller, triple DES encryption engines, etc., etc. Mr. Neil is also correct that the evaluation version of Keil creates code that only runs when programmed into external Flash on the mentioned board. The full version of Keil allows you to create code that can execute from the E5's internal SRAM block. There is also a Triscend E5 Starter Kit, which includes a JTAG download/debugger cable which can be used with any Triscend application. It is not limited to the development board. The E5 Starter Kit is $795 and includes a full version of Triscend FastChip, an E520 Development Board, a JTAG download/debug cable, and evaluation versions of Keil uVision2 and Cadence/OrCAD Capture (for creating your own custom logic functions). There is more information on the E5 Starter Kit at the following link. http://www.triscend.com/products/indexdeve5.html Steven K. Knapp Triscend Corporation sknapp@triscend.com |
