#117969 - \"Super\" Stamp Idea
Ok, I have this crazy idea for a \"super\" basic stamp and wanted to get comments on the idea.

The goal would be to add a new product to my existing product line. ($20 manufacture price, ~$35 retail).

It would be targeted at hobbists and students not hard cord embedded developers. The big advantage is that it would communicate over a serial port and not require any software to be loaded on the host computer. Development could even be interactive. (i.e. if you type pin(1) = 1, it raises pin 1 high).

Hardware
-----------------
28 Pin DIP Package
voltage regulator
Silicon Labs 8051 (100 MIPs, 128k flash, 8k ram)
8 Mbit Dataflash
Serial Port for communicating to device
LED

Software
----------------
tiny OS with ability to load and run program from flash
File system for Dataflash
On Board interactive Basic Interpreter with the ability to compile for speed
Monochrome video output

I have not 8051 experience as I\'ve only worked with AVR\'s and Cypress PSoC\'s. I just like the idea of using a 100MIP 8 bit uP. So what do you think? Is it possible? Is it a good idea?

Thanks,
Ken
