If you're observing the "shock" at the far end of the cable from the running equipment, then the equipment-end of the cable needs to be grounded to earth, as does the remote end. RE DE9 shell is connected to Earth on B1 side. I do not know the connection at E1 side. E1 was made available only for a short time, for testing purpose. That is why I had to write a E1 simulator for testing B1. will try to find out. KG |
