#118343 - well it is the "Intel kluge" and a guess Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I was using a P89C51RD , I used the PWM(4) and that code worked well.
Now I use a P89C51RD2 and the system resets hitself exactly like the Watchdog was activated well the PCA4 so called PCA4 watchdog is an "Intel kluge". A guess would be that the RD2, which is a 6 clocker, somehow get a different relationship between instruction cycle time and PCA clock. Why the "Intel kluge"? ANY watchdog that can be disabled by simple means is no more a watchog than a one pound puppy. The RD2 has a REAL watchdog, why not use it? If I use the third PCA 3 instead of PCA 4 the system works. the "Intel kluge" only apply to PCA4 Erik |
