so you "knew" that there was no short.

The danger of I know is that we all at some times "know" something that is not true. If a possibility is brought up and you "know" that it is not so, the least you can do is check again. I doubt there is any seasoned member here that has not at some time found out that what they "knew" was not so.

Yes you are right !!
But when I test the short with a meter .Inpedance between pins was the same than aonther. Because the short was on the reset generator and not on the P89C51 pins.
And now many components have got a lot of errata , and before sending a note in this forum , I did a lot of checking.
