#121503 - It\'s easier just to skip it Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I've tried that route ... It's easier just to use one of the other simulators that uses DOS, where we have text on a black background. Text colors don't, in general, contribute much aside from visibility problems. I've tried lots of different schemes, and, for me, light-grey or bright green on a very-dark-grey or dark blue background works, though the green is essentially indistinguishable from yellow, to my "chromatically challenged" eyes, as do a variety of other combinations too numerous to list here.
That's why I think this sort of thing ought to be configurable. The fact that it uses only half the available area and places it on a white background is also an annoyance. Had they used anything other than white, the small display area might have been readable. I'm certainly not going to change my default color scheme just to suit this one application which I've not even been able to try out. You guys should know, by now, that I'm very much interested in simulators, and I'm disappointed that I can't check this one out. In order for it to be truly useful, it has to have these options. They're readily available in Java, aren't they? RE |
