#123631 - /R & /W OR /IOR & /IOW
Hello every body.

I am doing an application(UART based - SERIAL comm.) based on microcontroller.
In that application the DEVICE(IC ST16C554) need /IOR and /IOW lines. But as we all know that a microcontroller has only /R and /W lines.

Now what shall I do? ----Can I connect /R and /W lines of microcontroller to the other DEVICE(IC ST16C554), insted of /IOR and /IOW lines. that is as shown below--

----------------- --------------------------
microcontroller | | ST16C554 UART
side | | side
/R |------------------|/IOR
/W |------------------|/IOW
| |
------------------- ---------------------------

One more doubt ;;;;;;;;
When to use level triggred and when to use edge triggred interrupts.
Pls explain with diagram.
