#123711 - doing it on the TOO cheap Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I recommend you to buy an USB debug adaptor (UDA) ($35).
But if you feel it's too expensive for your personal use, buy an USB ToolStick ($10.99) and modify it. The C8051F321 on the ToolStick is same as that on UDA, including its firmware. I REALLY wonder what is saved (USB ToolStick, printed circuit board [forget 'flying leads', you'll never get iot to work] connectors, cable other components) vs $35 for a WORKING interface. Now, if the toolstick toy AS IS is enough for you, then, go ahead an buy one, but do not buy it with the thought 'some day I'll make an EC2 out of it'. If you can not afford $35 initial cost, you will have a VERY tough time getting anywhere with this. Sorry. Erik |
