Of course it is difficult. To write good code is difficult! I don't think, it matters, what language you are using.

I wanted to say, that it is not too difficult for beginner, and it is not very difficult comparing with HLL.

Another thing, is, that you have to now a lot about binary numbers, hardware and so on. Without that, ASM can be terible!
