#125022 - Legitimate Reverse Engineering Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Erik Malund said:
There is a (C) in the code, how can disassembly for making a copy then be "Perfectly legitimate"? We used to do it all the time to our competitor products. We had a number of patents protecting the techniques we used, many of which were achieved via software. The only way to check if our patents were being infringed was to reverse engineer the software in our competitors products. As I say, it is perfectly legitimate. Ian |
