Why do you think that the "EMI resistant" (not "lightning resistant") devices are rated at 15kV. If you get a direct hit from a lightning, NOTHING will save your box, with proper design (actual 'to the outside' drivers with 15kV rating for everyything that leaves the box, ferrites and capacitors all over etc) you can survive most any indirect hit. If you have any plans of having a CMOS pin or similar leaving the box you are screwed (and so will many that never see lightning be). So, read the noise recommendations and expand on them. A few details of what you are making might lead to better suggestions. Erik |
