http://www.noritake.com has plenty VFDs that run on LCD code and - my favorite - some that run on TLL level serial.
I would use VFD over LCD any day regardless of the temperature, they are glorious in comparison. We have VFDs running in Alaska, check the datasheet for -40C Erik |
