Long time back I interfaced AT89C52 through floppy disk interface using Track0, WP, Motor Select and Head Select signals ( signalling simlar to I2C to implement 2 way communication). Since PC has only Floppy Drive A, 89C52 can look like Floppy drive B to the PC. Of course, you need elaborate PC side driver, which will become quite complex.
