The Term did not exist back then. Even if there where RISC processors back then.
The words "Powerful Instruction Set" sounds like marketing anyway. What does it mean? Useful or Bloated with seldom used options? The 8052 makes due with it limited set. The "Missing instructions" are still the same. The extras are sill the same. Most RISC cores added some CISC instructions to keep up. |
