I'm using a 8051 (Cygnal) to calculate the closed time of nine switches (not PWM) as a 16bit value for each. My problem is that the internal timers are already occupied so i am looking for an external solution for control of the switches.

I'm looking for the most accurate method of implementing multiple 16bit counters externally clocked at ideally 20Mhz.

I've looked at the AM9513, intel 8254 and AX10425 but neither appears suitable, either too slow, obsolete or not enough counters for this application. Are there any other solutions to this?
