CPLD, or better know as a FPGA will do nicely. If Tricend's E5 is not an option, I'd go with a Atmel or Altera 7128 EE CPLD. Jtag interface, and the free Altera Max plus software will burn this size device ( I think). It can also span the devices if the design dosent fit in one chip. Atmels are cheaper and compatible. Atmel offers CUPL fitting tools.
At one time the Altera programmers were free samples, don't know if its still the case. Martin |
