Hi Chris,

the routine use the same time base as the baud rate generator. Thus, why it counts 10 bit times on every baud rate.

But this was only suggest to detect, that the connection and the baud rate was right.
Any transmission of some bytes must work also without it. If not, you have some timing problems, e.g. the number of bits was different on the the receiver and the transmitter. Also other routines can eating too many time.

If you do not understand the routine, please use a simulator to step through.
