#137106 - PPP has maximum packet size Responding to: ???'s previous message |
You need to make sure you have enough available ram to receive at least one packet. I'm not sure of what the MTU of a PPP apcket is, but for ethernet is is around 1500bytes. I would expect that PPP is either equal or less than this.
Think about it - if there was no maximum size for a PPP packet - how would you cope with retries? How could you allocate enough memory? There is a staggering amount of information on the web regarding TCP/IP and allied protocols. Time to do some reading. |
