Sounds like a 'pot core' transformer.
Something like this? http://www.mag-inc.com/ferrites/..._cores.asp You say 'sealed' - with what? Usually some application of heat from a hot air gun will soften the goo and allow you to open the transformer - be careful not to burn yourself. |
