I have read this as well. A hardware reset terminates it and RAM is preserved. This means that RAM is preserved during hardware reset. The problem is that when using external program memory, when the power fails it also needs backup power for the latch and eprom, because it needs code to power down.
That is why is was wondering about power use when in reset, because it is easier to only keep power on the controller and hold it in reset till normal power comes up again. Thanks for you reply, Marc |
