If you are worried about power failure then you need a "power fault" indicator, such as a voltage comparator on the input to the +5V regulator that gives a warning to the 8051 that power loss is coming, so it should execute power down commands while it has time.
I don't think there is a good reason to use a design technique of running the processor while +5 is low enough to cause reset. |
