#14035 - RE: Do not pick one from the mainboard.
Uhm,

I dont want to be miss understood.

The 80x86 cpu series are very complex yes, but I think with a little effort i could get a 386 cpu to do what i want just like a microcontroller. Okay without a onboard serial port, and without onboard IO's. But its realy easy expandable. The ISA bus supports realy a lotof addressable cards. Way more then the 4 to 7 isa slots locacted on a 386 mainboard.

My first interest for using a 386 cpu comes from the pump.de mp3 player project which uses a 386 ex as they brain of the player.
