Indeed. Also the output of address decoder (138 -> 08) connected to chipselect indicates, that it is mapped only to the bottommost 16k of address space...
It seems that it could be easier to try to adopt the RAM socket - or, use a RAM or a '256 FLASH/parallelEEPROM (if you can get hands on some - they are not manufactured anymore). JW PS. Couldn't you store the fonts in internal memory of a 64k chip such as the 'RD2s? Or a bigger serial EEPROM? |
