fit in the back of the ram chip - the ugly - you need to load them from somewhere every time you power up (but see below).
I had thought about using I2C EEproms but I have the nasty suspicion that they may be a tad slow - the bad - definitely too slow if you plan on 'effects'. map the majority of code memory for the font tables - the good. now for a fancy possibility: use a large serial EEPROM for many fonts and load the selected font to RAM and use it from there.
