... to connect ALE (which in standard 8051 outputs a clock at a rate of XTAL/6 most of the time) to the watchdog input.
I think this "trick" is mentioned in one of the Dallas/Maxim appnotes to their version of the chip (DS1232?) Browsing this forum, you will also find Kai Klaas' recommendation to use a pullup on the reset line when using a 1232, so that it has a defined level even at low voltage. http://www.8052.com/forum/thr...ead=117218 JW |
